Pearl A.B. Teague, CPA, was hired as Controller at Central Vermont Medical Center. She has more than twenty-two years of experience in public accounting and in the health care industry. Pearl’s extensive health care consulting and auditing experience includes three years with the fifth ranking accounting firm RSM McGladrey, three years with a Big Four accounting firm and three years with a regional accounting firm.
She was licensed as a CPA in 1994. She is a member and was a past board member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, and has been chairperson of the extended care committee. Pearl is also a member of the Health Care Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She earned a Master of Science in Taxation, a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and an Associate Degree in Management from Bentley University in Boston.
“Pearl has developed experience in health care reimbursement and regulatory matters,” stated CVMC Chief Financial Officer Cheyenne Folland. “This expertise combined with her knowledge of operational issues confronting the finance department of health care facilities, makes her the perfect fit for CVMC,” concluded Folland.
Pearl’s husband Denis maintains a private law practice in Lowell, Massachusetts where he currently lives with their three children, Denis Jr., Talin and K. Caroline.
“Over the many months since our family first ‘staked its claim’ in Orange, Vermont, we have come to appreciate the state more and more,” noted Pearl. “My position with CVMC has solidified our family’s plan to establish residence in Vermont, hopefully in or near our campground in Orange.”
